Americans Increasingly Reject Biden’s Talking Points on COVID-19

A growing number of Americans are choosing freedom over fear when it comes to COVID-19. With the presence of the coronavirus vaccine and much more knowledge than one year prior about this virus, people are living their lives and not succumbing to fearmongering. This inevitably puts them at odds with the message of the Biden administration.

At this time, the Democrat president is adhering very closely to the “mask up, shut it down” approach. Last week, Biden implored Republican governors to reinstate mask mandates; this arrived before the Democrat president also articulated his belief that states should pause their reopening efforts.

On Good Friday, President Biden chose to lecture the American people for not being fearful enough of coronavirus. As Townhall reports, this did not turn out in the way that Biden hoped.

Biden vs. the American People

Yesterday, Biden lamented about Americans who are behaving “as if this fight [against COVID-19] is over.”

The Democrat president professed that “a more normal” Independence Day could happen if Americans would only wear masks, social distance, and “do their part.” Biden then remarked that the United States “isn’t there yet” before alleging that coronavirus transmissions, cases, and deaths are surging.

Americans did not hesitate to respond to this. Folks took to social media to note their personal experiences and also call out President Biden’s hypocrisy. In Biden’s complaints about Americans living their lives as free citizens, he declined to admit that his own failed border policies are engendering multiple crises and opportunities for COVID-19 to spread.

The American people, however, held the president to task on this detail.

A Sign of the Times

Mask mandates and restrictions are gradually being pulled down, whether voluntarily by GOP governors or by a higher authority, such as the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

For all of Biden’s talk about the virus, he has not acknowledged the adverse impacts stemming from measures such as lockdowns and businesses closures. In fact, this president openly endorsed a return to these measures, despite the economic harm, mental health challenges, etc., that stem from lockdowns and other restrictions.

Many Americans do not believe in the effectiveness of one-size-fits-all responses to COVID-19 anymore. Others have stated that with multiple vaccines available and more knowledge about this virus, adults have the tools to make their own decisions.
