Joe Biden’s tendency to put his foot in his mouth continues to generate negative press and a loss of confidence from Democrat voters. The former vice president keeps taking one hit after the other and all of it is of his own making.
Earlier this month, Americans collectively cringed when some of Biden’s 2017 remarks surfaced. In these remarks, Biden talked about allowing young children to play with his blonde leg hair in the water during his time as a lifeguard. However, new attention is being placed on the former vice president’s admission of learning a lot about “roaches.”

The context of “roaches” is eerie to many people and Biden has yet to explain it. Reports from Breitbart News confirm that certain individuals are wondering whether or not Biden’s use of “roaches” harbors certain racial connotations, given the context.
A Closer Look at the Context of Biden’s Statements and His Time as a Lifeguard
By his own admission, the 2020 Democrat sought a job as a lifeguard in order to get acquainted with black people since he was “a kid from suburbia.” While speaking in Wilmington, Delaware about his time as a lifeguard, Biden went on to note how the black children would play with his leg hair which would turn blonde in the sun.
The former vice president then noted that he “learned a lot about roaches” and enjoyed letting the children jump on his lap. Now, there are questions about how “roaches” pertain to lifeguard duties or Biden allowing children to play with his leg hair, despite the strangeness of the latter.
Biden has yet to come forward, clear the air, or explain his remarks. This is par for the course, however, seeing as the 2020 Democrat tends to make various gaffes and then fail to address why he made them. The candidate’s pattern of this behavior has subsequently raised questions about his mental stability and faculties.
The Double Standard
Biden has a history of not only gaffes, but also questionable remarks. On numerous occasions, Biden has called Trump a racist, but unlike the former vice president, Trump did not work with segregationist senators in order to further his career. The former vice president also marveled over Obama being the “first” and “mainstream” African-American who “looked nice” and spoke properly.

The reality here is that if President Trump said something even remotely similar to Biden’s remarks about “roaches,” the mainstream media would crucify him. If the president talked about allowing children to play with his blonde leg hair, the press would write him off as insane and senile; yet for some reason, Biden manages to get somewhat of a pass from the media.
