This month, President Biden announced that he’s instructing the Justice Department to take action on gun control. This announcement arrived as Biden simultaneously pressures congressional Republicans to get on board with the gun control bills that Democrats are looking to pass.
Republicans are not on board with gun control. For years, Democrats have been coming after Second Amendment rights; the White House is openly antagonistic against gun rights and even President Biden himself has claimed that amendments in the U.S. Constitution are not “absolute.”
It is clear that this president wants to make it significantly more challenging for Americans to bear arms. However, this gun control push is now being slammed for its false claims and the adverse impacts it would have on minority communities, according to Breitbart News.
The Problems with Biden’s Gun Control Agenda
Over the weekend, Crime Prevention Research Center president John Lott spoke about Biden’s push for gun control.
Lott explained to Steve Malzberg’s “Eat the Press” that Biden’s entire push for gun control is rooted in lies. Lott, who has actually authored a book called Gun Control Myths, declared that during Biden’s latest announcement about gun control, he spewed “at least two dozen” lies about guns.

The Crime Prevention Research Center president also explained that slashing police budgets, releasing prisoners onto the streets, failing to prosecute violent offenders, etc., leads to more crimes like homicides. Of course, this is something that Biden and the Democrats will never admit or openly talk about.
Finally, Lott explained that poor minorities in high-crime communities will suffer the most from Biden’s gun control agenda. According to Lott, the harm of gun control measures will only be compounded by Democrats’ simultaneous work to defund and dismantle law enforcement.
Emotionalist Policies Under the Biden Administration
As long as the Biden administration employs emotionalist policies, the results will continue to be catastrophic. Guns have existed much longer than mass shootings in the United States; therefore, it’s simply not enough to claim that more gun control will cut back on shootings.

During the height of the pandemic, many Democrat leaders took it upon themselves to let criminals out of prison. As John Lott noted, this increases the likelihood of crime happening. At the same time, Democrat leaders reduced police funding in certain communities; therefore, law enforcement is less equipped to take on crime.
Gun control is simply not the answer. Until the Biden administration faces this, more vulnerable communities and people will unfortunately suffer.
