Earlier this month, it came to the attention of the American people that Joe Biden kept classified documents hidden in multiple locations. This includes his home and a work office that he used years ago.
Democrats, of course, have largely been trying to sweep this under the rug. One common talking point alleges that Republicans are making too big a deal of this, given a similar scandal that Trump faced over classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago residence.
Even Biden himself has been trying to pass the buck and evade accountability. Just earlier this month, the president claimed that because some of the hidden documents were stashed in a locked garage with his Corvette, it’s not a big deal.
Needless to say, many folks beg to differ, per Reason.
A Horrible Look For Biden
Because of the scandal this president faced with his handling of classified documents, he’s lost standing to criticize Trump’s management of other records. Biden’s even been branded as hypocritical for admonishing his predecessor over this matter amid what’s now coming to light.
On another note, the White House’s lack of transparency on this issue isn’t doing the president any favor, either. Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has been notoriously dodging questions that various reports ask pertaining to this scandal.
Worth noting that the President seems to have absconded with more classified documents than many whistleblowers. For comparison, Reality Winner was sentenced to 5 YEARS for just one document.
Meanwhile Biden, Trump, Clinton, Petraeus… these guys have dozens, hundreds. No jail.

Right now, it’s very much apparent that the current administration doesn’t want to focus too much attention on Biden’s possession of classified documents. Nevertheless, this isn’t something that’s just going to go away or be forgotten about.
More News to Come
Republicans in the House of Representatives have been clear about their intention to get to the bottom of the documents in Biden’s possession.
Thus far, Americans know that at least some of the documents covered matters pertaining to the president’s family, along with international affairs.
Since Republicans control the House, they’re in the best possible position to launch an investigation. Democrats, naturally, are not going to be collectively on board, despite the fuss they kicked up when Trump was found in possession of classified records.
House Oversight Chair @JamesComer says "it sure looks like" the Biden administration withheld the document scandal from the public "for political reasons."

In the weeks and months ahead, it remains to be seen what all comes out about Biden’s documents scandal. The White House can also expect to face more scrutiny and questions about this matter.
At the end of the day, the American people deserve honest answers as to why Biden had these documents, how long they were stashed, and whether or not the information within them could have serious ramifications.
