Biden’s IG Investigates DeSantis For Transporting Migrants to Martha’s Vineyard

The Biden presidency has begun an inquiry into Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis after a devastating hurricane.

The Treasury Department’s Office of Inspector General said Wednesday that authorities would probe if the state misappropriated national funds when DeSantis decided to fly illegal immigrants to the left-wing community of Martha’s Vineyard.

Migrant Arrivals into Martha’s Vineyard

The announcement comes weeks after the DeSantis administration transported two flights carrying around 50 Venezuelan immigrants from Texas to Martha’s Vineyard with a stop in Florida.

This transit of migrants ended up prompting an outcry for some – even President Joe Biden – who chose to dub it a political stunt. Biden ridiculed the ploy, saying Republicans are using people as props.

Republicans replied that Biden’s liberal federal immigration tactics have resulted in a significant rise in narcotics trafficking. This trafficking of narcotics is killing Americans and putting thousands of migrants in peril from gangs.

Democratic Sen. Edward Markey issued a letter from the department’s OIG on Wednesday, which stated authorities “previously sought evidence from Florida about using federal coronavirus relief funding. Officials will determine if any of the migrant flight costs are allowed.”

Deputy Inspector General Richard Delmar said the office will “start this job as soon as practicable.” Markey praised the Treasury’s Inspector General’s quick response.

For the migrants who were enticed aboard charter flights under false premises and the commonwealth citizens who united to offer support, he expects this investigation reveals if Governor DeSantis misused COVID relief monies for Floridians.

Justification From DeSantis

DeSantis hit back last month against Democratic charges about illegal migrants he dispatched to Martha’s Vineyard. Numerous Democratic legislators accused the Florida governor of legal violations, such as “human trafficking.”

California Gov. Gavin Newsom tried to suggest much in a letter to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland. Some have argued DeSantis “falsely lured” migrants to the Massachusetts island, which he addressed Friday.

DeSantis told a reporter, “that’s false.” He assumed contractual workers were given a release form and a map of Martha’s Vineyard in a bundle. So, Florida gave them what they wanted.

DeSantis told The Daily Wire that everything is voluntary because that was the appropriate way to do it. If the government could deport them, he’d send them back to Mexico or home.

“Though here, people sign a release and obtain a package voluntarily. They got a Martha’s Vineyard map. They’re also fed well,” the Florida governor added.

The governor responded to left-wing CNN hosts who compared his conduct to the Holocaust. DeSantis watched someone on CNN remark that sending 50 illegals to Martha’s Vineyard is like the Holocaust.

The Florida governor wondered if the world had gone insane. He stated these are voluntary rides, but they’re provided with everything.
