California Reveals New Payment Plan For Pregnant Black Women

In the state of California, many issues with leadership and policy continue to emerge. Over the course of recent years, California has seen growing numbers of people leaving the state.

It turns out that high taxes and tight regulations aren’t very friendly to the middle class or business owners who want to make a way for themselves.

Many folks leaving California are moving to red states like Florida or purple states like North Carolina in order to create better lives for themselves.

At this point, it looks like California is going to be a reliably blue state for quite some time to come. Though it’s put out a new program that involves more fiscal spending, as reported by Washington Examiner.

Cash Handouts For Pregnant Black Women

Some pregnant black women in different California counties who earn below $100,000 per year will be eligible for anywhere between $600 to $1,000 in fixed payments over the next 12 months.

The counties included in this program are Contra Costa, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Riverside, and Alameda. Another condition for the fixed payments is that these women are in their first or second pregnancy trimesters.

California officials have stated this program is designed to compensate for economic inequities and birth complications that black women can face. However, the fact that these handouts are only going to pregnant black women, rather than all pregnant women, has generated some criticism.

This program also arrives as more on the left assert that a need for reparations to the black community exists.

More Expenses For Taxpayers

Despite what proponents of this program allege, there are no free lunches in life. The cash payments that California is handing out to pregnant black women come exclusively from taxpayers.

Everything comes at a cost, even if the government pretends otherwise. Furthermore, California has shown no sign of slowing down fiscal expenditures so that living for residents across the state becomes even a little bit more affordable.

As California taxpayers are spending considerably more than their counterparts across the nation, the state still struggles with crime, homelessness, and more.

Furthermore, California is quickly becoming a state of either the very wealthy or the very poor. High costs of living, largely driven by rampant government expenditures, only ensure that the middle class is weeded out or simply forced to relocate.

Thus far, there are zero indications that California’s leadership will be making positive changes later down the line.

What do you think about California’s social program that is providing fixed payments to only pregnant black women? Do you believe this program is a good idea or rife with serious problems?
