It doesn’t take a genius to understand why the relations between China and our country are extremely tense at the moment; although Democrats never cease to amaze.
Everyone with a good head on their shoulders can name at least two reasons why China shouldn’t be taking on massive construction projects on US soil right now, except for the elected politicians in the state of Michigan that is.
We’re giving free money to China
As it turns out, Michigan state officials decided to offer $715 million in incentives to Chinese-owned company Gotion, which is only part of a giant conglomerate, in order for them to create and run a battery production plant.
Even the environmental crowd has gone silent.

The plan to offer funds to Gotion was approved on Thursday last week; it’ll help with the development of the $2.4 billion battery production facility.
However, if you look at the votes, you’ll find that 10 votes supporting the plan came from Democrats, whereas only three Democrats joined the Republicans in voting against the motion.
This isn’t the first time this highly enthusiastic project was brought to the public eye.
It’s previously been criticized for showering endless grants and incentives on the company, including a 30-year-long tax break that Gotion is now entitled to, totaling somewhere around $540 million.

If you can’t see it, it’s not there
However, immense amounts of disapproval didn’t stop the Democrats from trying to spin the story into one that will benefit the average American. Governor Gretchen Whitmer claimed it to be the greatest economical development in North Michigan.
She went on to make ludicrous claims about the “many” job openings the project will create, even going as far as saying it’ll create good-paying jobs for financially troubled Americans; although one would have a hard time finding a battery facility that pays well.

At the end of the day, the real issue lies in the fact that even though the company itself is incorporated in California, it belongs to a much larger conglomerate in China.
