Not too long ago, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy handed over never-before-seen video of the infamous events at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021 to Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
McCarthy’s decision to release this footage has since been slammed by Democrats and certain pockets of the mainstream media. Critics accuse the House Speaker of threatening democracy and otherwise acting with nefarious intentions.
However, this begs to question why there’s so much outrage. Americans who agree with McCarthy granting Carlson the footage state that handing it over will actually deliver more transparency.
Of course, since the release of at least some of the content handed over by McCarthy, it’s been revealed that all is not as it seems when it comes to January 6.
Nevertheless, one of the nation’s leaders who’s having the most extreme meltdown is none other than Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, as reported by The Federalist.
Schumer Sounds Off
Right now, the Senate Majority Leader has opined that Fox News ought to ban Carlson from sharing with the public any more January 6 footage that he received from the House Speaker.
Schumer likewise claims the United States’ democracy is dependent on Carlson not airing any more of the video content from January 6. The Senate Majority Leader is even going after McCarthy himself.
Speaker McCarthy has held the gavel for less than three months.
But by sharing the January 6th security footage with Fox News, he has already done more than any party leader in Congress to enable the spread of Donald Trump’s Big Lie.

Some of Schumer’s latest criticism charges the House Speaker with “enabling” what he mentioned as the “Big Lie” of former President Trump. The professed “Big Lie” that Schumer was referring to is the former president’s insistence that the 2020 presidential election was not above board.
However, the Senate Majority Leader did not explain exactly how Americans being able to view more footage from January 6 would “enable” any allegations made about the 2020 presidential election.
More Than What Meets the Eye?
Many Americans do not share Schumer’s view that the public should be deprived of access to January 6 footage. As a matter of fact, this, alone, is leading to questions about what Schumer or other Democrats may have to hide.
So far, there’s been no confirmation that Fox News has any plans to ban Tucker Carlson from airing more January 6 footage. However, Carlson himself has sounded off against the demands and attacks from Schumer.
Tucker Carlson on the reaction from Democrats like Chuck Schumer to the previously unseen January 6 footage:
“What you’re seeing is hysteria … It’s not outrage, of course. It’s fear, it’s panic.” pic.twitter.com/gvOZvGLutY

According to the Fox News anchor, the Senate Majority Leader is fearful and panicking about what might emerge if Americans are given a clear picture of what happened on January 6.
Carlson furthermore warned that what Americans are seeing from Schumer and others like him is little more than hysteria.
