On Tuesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that the House will proceed with an official impeachment inquiry into President Trump. The aforementioned inquiry comes amidst whistleblower allegations which cite that the president urged the Ukrainian leader to investigate Joe Biden and Hunter Biden. These are claims which Trump staunchly denies; moreover, he’s promised to release the transcripts of the conversation later today.
Pelosi’s announcement continues to dominate in the news and the world of U.S. politics. Just about everyone is weighing in with their thoughts, whether or not they agree with Nancy Pelosi, and much more. To the shock of absolutely no one, failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is supportive of impeaching President Trump, as documented by The Daily Caller News Foundation.
Reviewing Clinton’s Statements on the Impeachment Inquiry
Yesterday, Clinton spoke with People Magazine and detailed her thoughts on Pelosi’s impeachment inquiry. Clinton alleged that supporting the inquiry didn’t come “easily or quickly.”
However, this is quite tough to believe coming from someone who lost to Trump, spent years sulking over the loss, and blaming her failure on everyone else but herself. To believe that Clinton is coming at this matter from a fair or impartial position would transcend to a peak level of naivety.
Clinton cited Trump as a “danger” to America’s future and furthermore stated that this nation faces “daily” betrayals from the president. Of course, this is simply not accurate, but nobody has ever accused Clinton of being an honest woman.
Her remarks on the matter of the impeachment inquiry read as follows:
“I’m in favor of moving toward impeachment. I did not come to that decision easily or quickly, but this is an emergency as I see it. This latest behavior around Ukraine, trying to enlist the president of Ukraine in a plot to undermine former Vice President Biden or lose the military aide he needs to defend against Trump’s friend, Vladimir Putin…if that’s not an impeachable offense, I don’t know what is!”
Checks and Balances
What’s actually remarkable is that Clinton spoke of impeachment as if it’s actually a viable, realistic path. The Democrat Party has been talking about impeaching Trump since he got into office. They’ve tried and failed countless times and nothing has changed.
Pelosi and other House members are free to open as many inquiries as they want, but since the Senate isn’t going to vote for impeachment, all of this is simply a show to appease radicals within the Democrat Party. Interestingly enough, when speaking with People Magazine, Hillary Clinton declined to mention the necessity of the very red Senate getting on board with impeachment in order for Democrats to get what they want.
