CNN made outrageous claims that Republican Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy “bribed” Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson by handing over footage from the January 6, 2021 events at the US Capitol.
Is CNN Jealous?
CNN’s viewership has been collapsing for years now, ever since it made it its primary goal to “take down” former President Trump with vicious, untrue attacks.
Meanwhile, the conservative channel Fox News, with its shows such as “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” has been routinely ranked as the most-watched news television in the United States.
CNN’s apparent envy of Fox News became painfully overt after one of its more recognizable faces, host John King, decided to bash both the Republican Party and his network’s rival – including Tucker Carlson – with fake bribery accusations.
Speaking on the CNN program “Inside Politics,” King stated that Rep. Kevin McCarthy was seeking to shut up Tucker Carlson’s criticism of him.
That was why, in King’s twisted logic, McCarthy decided to release video tapes from the January 6, 2021 storming of the US Capitol building by agitated supporters of former President Donald Trump.
King lamented the fact that the House Speaker was “giving access” to “tens of thousands of hours” of security footage from January 6.
The CNN anchor tried to strike a public outrage tune as he ranted about how Americans’ tax dollars “paid” for the security cameras in the Capitol building. Regardless, McCarthy was giving footage access only to Fox News and Tucker Carlson, King complained, as cited by The Daily Caller.
He then dwelled on how Carlson had been a “frequent critic” of McCarthy since before the latter became speaker. According to the CNN host, the Fox News journalist has particularly criticized McCarthy for having “no ideological core.”

For all of you that doubted we would release the tapes.
Here you go!
I’m very happy to be right again in my support for Kevin McCarthy as our Speaker.
Americans deserve to see the truth, not a one sided narrative and unfair two tiered justice system.https://t.co/EkVvbTwxcP

CNN’s King Pushes His Bribery Nonsense
The CNN reaction expressed by John King came after McCarthy gave Tucker Carlson access to more than 41,000 hours of footage from the Capitol storming, Axios reported.
On January 12, 2023, shortly after he was elected, House Speaker McCarthy declared the American public should be able to see what happened at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Prior to that, Carlson had called upon the future Speaker of the House to release the footage from the so-called “Capitol riot.”
Responding to another question on CNN’s “Inside Politics” this week, John King pushed further the laughable idea that McCarthy had been trying to bribe Carlson into giving him favorable coverage.
The channel played a clip in which Carlson was criticizing the House Speaker. King insisted that Carlson characterized McCarthy as “not really a conservative,” but as an “agnostic” who “flaps with the breeze.”
King insisted that McCarthy must have decided that Tucker Carlson would be nice to him if he gave him “this,” i.e., the January 6 2021 footage.
The Daily Caller report noted that CNN has been publishing multiple January 6 stories citing anonymous sources, leading to speculations that the former 1/6 select committee was leaking information to the far-left propaganda network.
This article appeared in Mainstpress and has been published here with permission.Whether McCarthy is seeking favorable coverage from Carlson or not, I don't know, John King. But the big story is what you are desperately trying to avoid: the "Jan. 6" charade was a manufactured event. Pelosi and Wray lied. Now, start reporting the truth.
