An investigation found the US Department of State has been funding a disinformation-focused group that’s secretly blacklisting and actively attempting to defund conservative media in the US.
The organization in question, called the Global Disinformation Index, has been sending out blacklists to ad companies, hoping it would result in the defunding and closure of websites that are spreading “misinformation.”
Government-funded blacklisting of conservative media finally uncovered
However, if you look closer, what they classify as misinformation is practically anything that goes against the divisive Democratic agenda.
Despite this sort of activity being illegal in the US, the group has been backed several times by government entities, receiving upwards of $330,000 in total.
The Global Disinformation Index claims to be “neutral and transparent” as it “assesses disinformation risk” in media markets.
The US State Department helps fund it. Advertisers use it to blacklist “dangerous” publications.

The Justice Department’s former acting head, Jeffrey Clark, chimed in on the developments, reminding everyone that any group which engages in censorship should in no way be affiliated with the government.
It creates a bias that benefits one political group more than the other.
As it turns out, the GDI compiled a list of content to be excluded, which they continuously feed to corporate entities, such as advertising companies.
By doing this, companies like Xandr will refuse to place any of their ads on the websites that the GDI has marked as misinformation.
One of the sites that suffered several blows from this illegal activity is The Washington Examiner, whose revenue took a massive hit due to this censorship, and several other websites followed suit.

Free speech almost extinct in the US
What we currently know is one of the government entities supporting GDI is the National Endowment for Democracy, a nonprofit whose entire funding comes from congressional appropriations throughout the year.
In 2021 alone, this nonprofit raked in more than $300M from the State Department. A further investigation found the organization, despite being a private entity, has been acting as a government grant-making body ever since 1983.
If this does blow up, the federal government could very easily be in big trouble, all depending on the amount of money they’ve been paying to GDI to censor information, as well as pressure other companies into following their example.

Regardless of how you look at it, this is damaging to US citizens and companies on a much grander scale; the fact that it’s going unpunished is revolting.
However, the GDI also admitted to accepting donations from Disinfo Cloud, which is yet another defunct platform that operates through the State Department’s Global Engagement Center.
According to reports, the GEC awarded around $300,000 to a group that fights disinformation, terrorism, and violent extremism, known as Park Advisers, which then went on to use Disinfo Cloud’s database to censor conservative media.
Even though he keeps talking about free speech, Joe Biden and his team of lackeys are practically knee-deep in trying to put an end to it, which goes against everything this country once stood for.
