Conservatives are Hammering Democrat Candidates in TV Ads

Up until recently, conservatives have been cautious to go where a recent TV ad from a pro-GOP group (that backs primary candidates competing in state legislative elections) has gone.

The commercial connects an incumbent Democrat state representative in Virginia seeking election in November 2022 to POTUS Joe Biden, whose approval numbers have plummeted in the last couple of months.

Republicans are Attacking Hard

The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) advertisement features a video of Virginia state legislator Alex Askew. This video shows Askew suggesting he and other liberals in the region can “campaign on the records of President Biden and our partners and friends in Washington, D.C.”

The Askew commercial is one of a six-figure advertisement purchase by the RSLC in the Virginia midterms. These midterms are being viewed as a harbinger by many experts ahead of next year’s midterms.

Republican ads trying to target Democrat congressmembers and state legislators facing tough reelection battles have common themes. These ads frequently link Democrat candidates to Democrat politicians.

These politicians include House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Sen. Bernie Sanders, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, as well as other representatives of the so-called “Squad.”

Biden, who had been polling well until earlier this summer, was nowhere to be found. However, the president’s popularity is waning in the aftermath of his widely panned management of the tumultuous US pullout from Kabul.

A spike in COVID cases this summer amongst mostly unvaccinated persons, due to the transmission of the highly contagious delta variant, also hasn’t done Biden any favors. As a result, Republican strategists appear to be changing their minds about the president.

If You Stick With Biden, You are Done

A representative from the RSLC told Fox News the following: “So far in this election cycle, this is the closest direct link we’ve seen between a Virginia House Democrat and President Biden.”

The representative then told Fox News to hang tight for more Republicans holding Virginia Democrats responsible for sticking by the failings of Biden and his radical leftist pals in Congress. This comes given that the Biden administration is underwater in this district and due to other objectives of the GOP.

“Joe Biden’s economic plans will be leveraged in races across the nation; they will serve as a noose all-around the necks of each and every susceptible House Democrat,” Michael McAdams, director of communications for the Republican National Congressional Committee, told Fox News.

Biden appeared in a recent commercial for America’s Job Creators for a Strong Economy, a collaboration of over 30 business and trade organizations. Last month, they debuted the first in a wide range of developmental advertisements aimed at the president and House Democrats’ $3.5 trillion spending package.

“Biden, Pelosi, and Bernie are promoting a job-killing program that would crush Main Street companies and working people,” the narrator argues in the web ad. The ad also attacks Arizona Democrat Sen. Mark Kelly, who may face a tough reelection battle next year.
