Democratic Operative Acknowledged He Lied Against Trump

Veteran Democratic operative Charles Dolan Jr. acknowledged he lied to Igor Danchenko when Danchenko was collecting information against Trump for the Steele dossier.

Dolan’s false information made its way in the infamous anti-Trump dossier, which remained the basis of many investigations against Trump’s campaign.

Top Democratic Strategist Admitted to Lying About Trump

Danchenko’s trial is underway. He is a top sub-source of the anti-Trump Steele dossier, which linked the former president to Russia.

During the trial, prosecutors showed an email in which Danchenko asked Dolan whether he had any information on the departure of Paul Manafort from Trump’s campaign.

Paul Manafort was the campaign manager of Trump before he resigned on August 19, 2016.

Dancheko wrote in the email that he was working on an anti-Trump project; so he urgently needed that information, adding both of them have similar ambitions against Trump.

Likewise, Danchenko asked Dolan, being a Democrat, what his opinion about Trump was. Responding to this, Dolan suggested he had a negative perception of Trump.

Later on, Dolan again emailed Danchenko, telling him he had lunch with a Republican friend who detailed information about Trump’s campaign.

According to Dolan, his GOP friend suggested Trump’s former campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, hated Manafort to an extent that he danced after his resignation.

However, during Danchenko’s trial, Dolan admitted he did not talk with any Republican and got information about Manafort from open sources, particularly cable news.

Dolan also told the prosecutors that Lewandowski’s hate of Manafort was very common information back then. After talking to Dolan, Danchenko reworded his emails and included the paraphrased information in his report, which was later quoted in the Steele dossier.

The infamous dossier mentioned a political operative close to Trump revealed many senior people in the campaign did not want Manafort on the team, which forced him to resign.

As per the dossier, Lewandowski hated Manafort, the information which Dolan gave to Danchenko without any proper source.

Credibility of the Anti-Trump Dossier in Question

However, Dolan claimed he never knew the information he provided to Danchenko got included in the dossier until Durham contacted him for investigations in the Trump-Russia probe.

On Thursday, Dolan also testified he suspected Dunchenko was involved in leaking his information to the founder of the Steele dossier since they were close friends.

The dossier remained the basis for the FISA warrant against Trump’s aide Carter Page. Page’s warrant has already been renewed three times.

Earlier this week, an FBI official revealed in Danchenko’s trial that the FBI offered $1 million to the founder of the Steele dossier, Christopher Steele, for proving his anti-Trump allegations. Steele was unable to verify any claim.

Although Special Counsel John Durham is prosecuting Danchenko on five charges of lying to the FBI, Danchenko has not pleaded guilty to any of them.
