California has one of the worst homelessness crises in America. In fact, the state has made headlines for needles, tents, etc., littering the streets. Even prior to coronavirus, the homelessness situation was a mess; although, the financial fallout of COVID-19 has forced even more Californians into homelessness.

The Golden State, under Democrat leadership, is suffering big time. In fact, many folks with the economic means are leaving California for red states like Florida and Texas. On top of the homelessness crisis in California comes very high taxes and unspeakable restrictions on businesses and residents.

Despite the failure of California’s homelessness situation, Democrats are embracing it with open arms. In fact, Breitbart News report that the Biden administration is looking to take California’s model of handling homelessness to a nationwide level.

Homelessness in the United States

The left-leaning New York Times recently published a celebratory piece on California Governor Gavin Newsom’s management of homelessness in the state. According to the Times, Newsom’s “Homekey” hotel purchasing program has supposedly created a “dent” in localities that are hit hard by homelessness.

Homekey ultimately entails purchasing hotels for homeless people to reside in for some time. Despite the narrative from the New York Times, though, the hotel purchasing program is far from a smashing success. One of California’s leading issues among state voters is still the massive homeless population.

However, in spite of this, the Biden administration is taking Homekey to a nationwide level. The Democrat president has already begun having the government purchase hotel rooms for illegal aliens; of course, though, it is the American taxpayer who ultimately winds up footing the bill for this project.

What Caused Such Massive Homelessness in California?

The massive homelessness crisis in the Golden State is a result of failed statewide policies.

With such high taxes and high costs of living, many California residents were forced onto the streets. Now, Newsom and other Democrats aim to “fix” this problem by having taxpayers ultimately foot the bill for the mistakes of politicians.

The best means for California to put an end to the homelessness crisis in the state is the reversal of ineffective policies. However, so long as Democrats remain in power, the unsuccessful policies will continue to stay in California.
