Fewer Americans Favor a Path to Citizenship for Illegal Immigrants

Mass amnesty and a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants are two of many goals for the Democrat Party. With President Biden at the helm, Democrat lawmakers are more emboldened than ever to push through extremist legislation that lacks even an iota of Republican support.

As Democrats support amnesty for illegals, the Southern border is suffering a crisis like never before. Leaked images of border facilities this past weekend displayed kids packed like sardines in very close quarters and with foil covering them. The White House continues to explain away these horrific conditions while failing to acknowledge that the border is in crisis.

Amid all of these events, fewer and fewer Americans are supportive of a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants, as Newsmax confirms.

What Americans Really Think about Mass Amnesty

If you let the left tell it, support for mass amnesty and giving illegal immigrants a path to U.S. citizenship is widely backed. However, the reality doesn’t support this false narrative.

According to a Politico/Morning Consult survey, only 43% of American voters favor giving illegal immigrants a path to citizenship. While only 25% of Republicans are supportive of citizenship for illegals, Democrat voters’ support for this policy has dropped from 72% to just 57%.

The numbers get even more interesting when reviewing what Americans view as good alternatives to a path to citizenship. 19% of voters expressed support for illegal immigrants gaining legal U.S. residency, but not U.S. citizenship; meanwhile, another 27% confirmed their support of deporting illegal immigrants or otherwise removing them from the states.

Will Democrats in Washington Take Note?

If Americans are holding their breath waiting for Democrats in Washington to take note of where most voters stand regarding mass amnesty, they should breathe. President Biden, along with his leftist allies in the House and Senate, have no intention of reconsidering their amnesty pushes.

Ultimately, Democrats in the federal government want to expand their voter base by giving illegal immigrants a pathway to citizenship. This is all about a power grab, not about implementing policy that is in the best interests of America and truly popular amongst the people.

Even now, many illegal immigrants are being allowed to enter into America without any coronavirus testing. Meanwhile, U.S. citizens cannot re-enter the nation without showing a negative COVID-19 test.
