The condemnation over former President Trump’s urging for the Constitution to be “terminated” is still going strong.
Trump has been blasted for this. Senate Republicans are speaking out and trying to keep themselves at arm’s length from what the former president advocated for.
Other critics of the former president warned endorsing a “termination” of the US Constitution isn’t in keeping with someone being a candidate for president.
It’s likewise been stated that Trump’s demand should actually disqualify him from being a candidate in the 2024 presidential election.
One of Trump’s most prominent critics now is John Bolton, his former national security adviser, according to Breitbart News.
The Latest From Bolton on Trump
Despite serving as the former president’s national security adviser, Bolton hasn’t minced words when it comes to this latest scandal facing Trump.
During an interview with Meet the Press, Bolton declared it is inherently “un-American” for someone to come out against the Constitution as Trump did.
When you challenge the Constitution itself, that is un-American. You can’t simply say, ‘I support the Constitution.’ You have to say, ‘I would oppose people who undercut it.’ If the current GOP presidential candidates don't repudiate Trump, I'm prepared to get in the race. pic.twitter.com/TFYQYbuX31

Later, Bolton declared that if Republicans in the 2024 primary aren’t able to successfully “repudiate” the former president, then he personally will get into the race as a candidate.
The former national security adviser then informed Meet the Press that if Trump were to theoretically be elected again, he’d be lying when taking his oath of office to defend and uphold the Constitution.
Bolton moreover stressed that support for the Constitution isn’t a matter one can merely “disagree” on, due to its pivotal role in our nation’s republic.
A Heated GOP Primary to Come
While former President Trump already declared his candidacy in the 2024 presidential race, it looks as though other Republicans are holding off until some time into 2023.
Since Trump’s announcement, some reports indicated the former president’s early entry into the race was a tactic to keep other GOP candidates off the map.
However, Republicans are not coming out and expressly stating they won’t challenge Trump. If anything, between the former president slipping in the polls and facing one huge scandal after the next, some GOP candidates may feel emboldened to challenge him in the primary.
No American conservative can agree with Donald Trump's call to suspend the Constitution because of the results of the 2020 election. And all real conservatives must oppose his 2024 campaign for president.

At this time, it remains to be seen whether or not John Bolton actually does decide to jump into the 2024 presidential election. Though if he does, Americans can expect an announcement sometime on the earlier side of 2023.
Amid the fallout over Trump’s commentary about the Constitution, the former president has alleged on Truth Social that “fake news” is taking his remarks out of context.
What do you think about former national security adviser John Bolton’s warning that he’s willing to jump into the 2024 presidential election to stop Trump? Feel free to let us know in the comments area how you believe this upcoming election cycle will turn out.
