Fox News Cuts Ties With Trump

For years on end, Fox News has been a major ally of former President Trump. The conservative news network repeatedly went to bat for Trump when he was under fire from left-wing outlets like CNN and MSNBC.

Throughout Trump’s time as president, he frequently went on Fox News to give various interviews about his work in office, the issues facing America, and more.

However, the relationship between Fox News and the former president appears to have taken a turn as of late. Trump hasn’t been on the network lately; neither have his adult children who were also known to interview with Fox.

Now, Newsmax confirms that Fox News has prohibited Trump from appearing on the platform altogether.

A New Turn For Fox News

The last time the former president was on Fox News is April 13, 2022. Reports now indicate that Trump hasn’t been on since then, due to Fox’s interest in essentially phasing him out as a guest.

Moreover, Trump is said to have expressed concerns that Fox News anchor Sean Hannity isn’t engaging with him in the way he used to.

Apparently, the higher-ups at Fox News, CEO Lachlan Murdoch and chairman Rupert Murdoch, have grown disillusioned with the former president.

At the same time, the Murdoch family owns the Wall Street Journal and New York Post, both of which have railed against how Trump handled January 6 and pushed back on Trump running for office again.

What’s more is that former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, who also isn’t exactly in Trump’s fan club, has a seat on Fox News’ board of directors. Ryan is likewise believed to have had a role in the company moving away from Trump altogether.

Allegedly, some Republicans at Fox are interested in having Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis hold the leadership position in the GOP that was once associated with Trump.

Bad News For Trump?

Various officials in political circles have suggested the former president is losing his grip over the GOP. Fox News refusing to have the former president on is widely seen as more evidence of this view.

On Truth Social, Trump’s slammed Fox News for what he views as the company ultimately turning against him. Meanwhile, some of Trump’s fiercest supporters have taken to social media, ripping Fox News and saying they won’t watch the network any longer.

On top of Fox News giving Trump the boot, recent conversations with unnamed GOP lawmakers revealed that many Republicans in the Senate have doubts about Trump’s ability to win the 2024 election, should he choose to run.
