Gabbard Opposes Impeachment, Says “Voters” Should “Defeat” Trump

It’s a very well-known fact that the vast majority of the Democrat Party wants to impeach President Trump. Americans have witnessed the various failed attempts of the left-wing to transform the impeachment fantasy into a reality. Democrats pushed as hard as possible for impeachment during the Robert Mueller investigation. When the Mueller investigation failed to yield the outcome which Democrats wanted, they switched gears and alleged that Trump obstructed justice during the probe. This, too, failed to hold water and result in the impeachment which Democrats want.

2020 presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard is one of the few Democrats who does not want Trump to face impeachment. Gabbard expressed her interest in voters booting the president out of office, rather than Congress forcing him out via impeachment. The Daily Caller News Foundation furthermore reported Gabbard’s assertions that impeachment would be too divisive for America.

A Closer Look at Gabbard’s Stance on Impeachment

Gabbard articulated her thoughts on impeachment during an interview with Greta Van Susteren. In essence, Gabbard stated that impeachment is not the best course of action for the nation as a whole.

Instead, the 2020 hopeful opined that Americans ought to be the ones to remove the president by voting him out of office. This stance places Gabbard in opposition with the majority of her peers within the Democrat Party who want to see Trump impeached from office.

Her precise words regarding the matter of impeachment read as follows:

“I don’t support impeachment. You know, I think it’s important for us to think about what is in the best interest of the country and the American people, and continuing to pursue impeachment is something that I think will only further to tear our country apart. Make no bones about it: We need to defeat Donald Trump, but I think it’s important for our country’s sake and our future that the voters in this country are the ones who do that, and I believe that we will.”

The Fallacy of Impeachment

Impeaching President Trump is something which will never happen; this a reality which Democrats are gradually forced to come to terms with. The truth of the matter is that Trump has not committed any impeachment offenses, hence why each and every attempt to impeach him has resulted in failure. Disliking the president, disagreeing with his policies, or thinking that his tweets are mean do not serve as grounds for impeachment.

The irony here is that the same people calling for impeachment seemingly don’t realize that if Trump were impeached, Mike Pence would become president. Democrats have made it very clear that they don’t think much of Pence either; this merely goes to show that Democrats who support impeachment haven’t really thought it through and considered all that impeachment would entail.
