It’s quite safe to assert that leftist policies have utterly failed California. As you read this, streets of the Golden State are flooded with needles, human excrement, individuals sleeping in tents and worse. The homelessness crisis has reached new levels and continues to make the news as filthy, uncouth streets pose various public health concerns.
California residents are sick of dealing with the consequences of rampant homelessness in their communities. At this time, politicians of the state are being called out for their failure to act, despite promises made during election season.
Right now, California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) is under fire, as reported by Breitbart News; a video directed to Newsom from small business owner Elizabeth Novak is quite relevant in the heat towards Newsom. In the footage, Novak notes having to close and relocate her salon due to the perils of extreme homelessness in the community.
Reviewing Novak’s Message to Newsom
Elizabeth Novak originally posted the video on Twitter, although it’s no longer on the platform. Various outlets are now publishing the content and Novak’s message is quite clear. She begins her remarks by affirming that she will continue to reach out to the California governor until action is taken.
By Novak’s own admission, her Sacramento-based business which garnered success for 15 years must now close and relocate due to rampant homelessness in the area. She then went on to explain the graphic plight which countless Californians are exposed to on a regular basis:
“I just want to tell you what happens when I get to work. I have to clean up the poop and the pee off of my doorstep. I have to clean-up the syringes. I have to politely ask the people who I care for (I care for these people that are homeless) to move their tents off of the way of the door to my business. I have to fight off people who push their way into my shop who are homeless and on drugs because you won’t arrest them for drug offenses.”
Novak furthermore noted that while she has contacted police officers, they’ve been unable to help, due to laws which tie their hands. The small business owner goes on to state that law enforcement officers actually advised her to contact Newsom.
The End Result of Leftist Policies
What Elizabeth Novak and others in the Golden State are being forced to endure is absolutely egregious. The California governor has yet to respond to Novak and this isn’t the first time that online videos have surfaced of people complaining about issues in the state.
Towards the end of the video, Novak herself pointed out the failure of leftist policies and criticized Newsom’s interest in “[making] it comfortable for everybody except for the people that work hard and have tried their hardest to get along in life.”
