Gavin Newsom is Believed to Be Preparing to Run For President

California Governor Gavin Newsom has quite a bit on his plate. His state’s electric grid isn’t doing so well; neither are the rates of homelessness, taxes, or the people vacating to lead better lives in one of the other 49 states.

However, Newsom appears more preoccupied with boosting his own political profile than actually delivering positive results for Californians.

This has been seen via Newsom running attack ads in Florida against Republicans, while also daring Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to join him in a debate.

Newsom’s name has been loosely floated around as a potential presidential candidate. However, new sources (per Washington Examiner) allege that if Biden doesn’t run for reelection in 2024, Newsom has every intention of stepping up for the job.

What to Know About a Possible Newsom 2024 Candidacy

An unnamed California fundraiser with ties to the governor’s family claims that after the midterms, Newsom will declare his candidacy for the White House if Biden announces he’s not going for another term.

For what it’s worth, Newsom himself has not confirmed these reports. In previous statements, the California governor claimed to have zero interest in running for president; though that remains to be seen.

A lot of Newsom’s behavior lately seems to mirror that of someone looking to take the next step. What else would motivate the California governor to run ads in Florida, targeting the state’s governor and leadership?

Another source close to the California governor claims that Newsom is strategically positioning himself for a potential presidential run, but hasn’t made any ultimate decisions just yet.

A Bumpier Road

Many Americans believe that Newsom feels a presidential run will be a cakewalk. However, the California governor’s leadership of his own state may prove to be more problematic than he’s perceived to imagine it will.

In a hypothetical scenario where Newsom declared himself as a candidate in the 2024 presidential election, his critics would draw attention to various failures of his leadership as reasons why he shouldn’t be president.

Ultimately, Americans are going to have to wait and see what the 2024 presidential election has in store. Right now, people are just speculating and guessing.

Though once the midterms are over, the country can expect 2024 election news and developments to quickly pick up.

Winning a presidential election is very different than winning a race for governor in a deeply left-wing state. Time will tell what lies ahead and which candidates are in the running by the time 2024 arrives.

What do you think about rumors of Gavin Newsom planning to run for president in 2024? Do you believe the California governor will announce his candidacy if Biden chooses not to pursue reelection? You’re welcome to let us know your thoughts about this in the comments area.
