The month of October has started off with several new cases of high-level Republicans testing positive for COVID-19.
On Thursday night, Americans learned that Hope Hicks, aide to President Trump, tested positive for the virus after traveling to Ohio for the first Trump-Biden debate. Hicks also displayed various symptoms linked to COVID-19, hence causing her, President Trump, and First Lady Melania Trump to undergo tests.
This morning, Americans learned that the president and first lady of the United States are positive for COVID-19; therefore, the first couple will go into quarantine. On the other hand, Vice President Mike Pence and Second Lady Karen Pence tested negative for the virus, as did Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
Now, additional breaking news confirms that GOP Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel has received a positive test for coronavirus, according to Washington Examiner.
Important Information About the GOP Chairwoman and Positive COVID-19 Test
The GOP National Committee chairwoman’s positive test for COVID-19 arrived on Wednesday. Unlike Hope Hicks, McDaniel wasn’t exposed to the virus via travels to Ohio, but instead from a relative who previously contracted the virus.

As such, the GOP chairwoman has self-quarantined in her own home, according to a statement from the Republican National Committee. Upon news that the president and first lady have positive coronavirus diagnoses, McDaniel took to Twitter this morning in order to wish the first couple a rapid recovery from COVID-19.
Lesser-Known Truth About Coronavirus
As various reports about positive coronavirus tests linked to public figures surface, critics of Trump and the Republican Party are doing a lot of “I told you so” and some are even celebrating.
However, the positive coronavirus tests of Hope Hicks, Ronna McDaniel, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump do not change the facts about this virus. Per the CDC’s own findings, the rates of recovery for COVID-19 range between 99.997% and 94.6%; the specific number for various individuals depends on age and other health factors.
As has been routine for months, Vice President Pence is tested for COVID-19 every day. This morning, Vice President Pence and the Second Lady tested negative for COVID-19. Vice President Pence remains in good health and wishes the Trumps well in their recovery.

Furthermore, Ronny Jackson, a White House doctor who worked under Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump, maintains that the recovery rate for individuals in Trump’s age range is 99%. Jackson confirmed that the 45th president doesn’t have any health comorbidities and is therefore expected to make a full recovery.
