At this time, the federal government controlled by President Biden is working to strip gun owners of their constitutional right to bear arms. Last week, the Democrat president had the gall to declare that no amendment in the U.S. Constitution is absolute.

In an effort to curtail Second Amendment rights, Biden has ordered the Justice Department to employ a series of measures against “ghost guns,” “assault weapons,” etc. Republicans have come out in full force, declaring that they will not idly stand by and allow this president to trample over gun rights.

GOP leaders at the state level are now taking action to preserve gun right as well. Washington Examiner reports that West Virginia has recently passed new reforms into law that will protect gun owners and gun manufacturers.

New Gun Laws in West Virginia

Last week, West Virginia GOP Governor Jim Justice signed the bill known as H.R. 2499 into law.

This legislation rewards gun manufacturers with tax credits while furthermore eliminating sales taxes on ammunition and guns themselves. GOP sponsors of the bill have applauded its success, stating that H.R. 2499 solidifies West Virginia as a state that cherishes Second Amendment rights.

H.R. 2499 will officially go into effect in West Virginia on July 1, 2021. Due to the fine print of this bill, gun manufacturers may be freed from state taxes; this provision extends to the machinery that is used to create ammunition and guns themselves.

Due to the perks of H.R. 2499, certain GOP sponsors of the bill have speculated that some gun manufacturers will eventually move to West Virginia.

Resisting Biden’s Anti-Gun Agenda

In light of the Biden administration’s work to strip U.S. citizens of the right to bear arms, Republican leaders at the state level have to take action like never before.

Just recently, Tennessee, a red state, became the latest to recognize constitutional carry. Other Republican states such as Arkansas, South Dakota, West Virginia, etc., recognize constitutional carry rights as well.

GOP lawmakers and leaders have vowed to protect the Second Amendment and resist Biden’s anti-gun agenda. Therefore, Americans can expect to see more states passing pro-gun laws.
