A medical facility was called for the woman to be evaluated.
On Monday, there was no new information concerning her condition that could be shared. According to the police, the investigation of this matter has been turned over to the office of the attorney general of the state.
In addition, the state health department is conducting an investigation, according to a spokeswoman named Monica Pomeroy, who added that she was unable to provide any further details.
Statement and Similar Case
The nursing facility was provided with an opportunity to provide feedback by way of email. On Monday, the individual who answered the telephone there hung up on the caller.
The representatives of the funeral home issued a statement in which they said, “Out of respect for the confidentiality and privacy of the people we are pleased to serve, we aren’t in a position to speak further on this situation.”
This apparent premature declaration of death took place just a few days after a long-term care home in Iowa was fined $10,000 for a situation quite similar to this one.
On January 3, local authorities reported that a 66-year-old lady who had been receiving hospice care at the Glen Oaks Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Urbandale had been pronounced dead at the facility.
Per the authorities, the woman was put in a body bag and taken to the Ankeny Funeral Home and Crematory. Once there, workers discovered she was still breathing and called 911 to report the incident.
"The woman was placed in a body bag and taken to the Ankeny Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral home’s staff members then unzipped the body bag to find the woman alive and gasping for air"
I've woken up in *a lot* of strange places but never in a body bag in the morgue 😲

According to a report released by the Iowa Department of Inspection and Appeals during the previous week, she was readmitted to hospice care; it was there that she eventually passed away on January 5.
Strange things are indeed happening around the world. Although she later passed away, the situation reinforces our belief in the supernatural.
