Last year, Empire actor Jussie Smollett gained national attention after alleging that two, white Trump supporters in MAGA hats attacked him.

Smollett maintained that these supposedly vicious Trump supporters beat him up in the cold streets of Chicago at 2 AM. Additional pointers from Smollett’s clearly doctored tale included mention of bleach being poured on him and shouts of racist and homophobic slurs while the attackers placed a noose around his neck.

After ongoing investigations from the Chicago Police Department, review of video surveillance, and news that the two white Trump supporters in MAGA hats were actually Nigerian brothers who worked as extras on the Empire set, the reality that Smollett lied came to the forefront.

After various investigations, law enforcement officers and prosecutors learned that Smollett manufactured a fake hate crime to garner sympathy and further his career.

As of yesterday, Smollett is now facing an indictment for staging and reporting a phony hate crime, as documented by Breitbart News.

A Close Review of Smollett’s Indictment

Due to doctoring a fake hate crime and making multiple untrue reports to law enforcement, Smollett is currently dealing with six disorderly conduct counts.

Special prosecutor Dan Webb maintains that despite Smollett getting freed from 16 felony counts in 2019, “further prosecution” of the Empire actor is imperative to justice. The countless hours that Chicago police spent on investigating a crime that never happened is a factor in the indictment against Smollett coupled with the premeditated and “extensive nature” of the actor’s outright lies.

Jussie Smollett is mandated to return to court later this month on February 24. The actor continues to profess his innocence, despite the video cameras, investigations, and Nigerian brothers, each proving that Smollett lied.

The Latest from “The Resistance”: Staging Hate Crimes

Unfortunately, Smollett is not the first individual to stage a hate crime since President Trump’s election and he likely won’t be the last. Leading up to Trump’s 2016 victory, leftists spent so much time lying and professing that a Trump presidency would engender violence against minorities. When this didn’t pan out, Democrats began fabricating phony hate crimes in order to advance their anti-Trump, political narrative.

Due to the high profile nature of this incident, the indictment isn’t the last Americans will hear of the Jussie Smollett saga. The Empire actor’s legal team is already going after Webb, stating that Smollet being held accountable is an act of politics, rather than justice.
