The Democrat Party is doing an excellent job of pandering to their base and deluding leftists into believing that President Trump will be removed from office. This week, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Chairman Jerry Nadler, and other House Democrats officially brought impeachment articles against the president of the United States.
Democrats stood before the country and falsely accused Trump of committing high crimes and misdemeanors by obstructing justice and abusing power.
The impeachment articles engendered a lot of praise and cheers from left-wingers who are hoping that THIS will be the time Democrats manage to stick it to Trump. However, what the radical left forgets is that even if House Democrats get enough votes to pass this onto the Senate for a trial, the Senate is controlled by Republicans.
This is a reality which Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell reminded everyone ( especially Democrats) of on Tuesday, per reports from Breitbart News.
A Closer Look at McConnell’s Reminder
During a press conference, the Senate Majority Leader reminded everyone that a vote to remove President Trump from office would require support from 67 senators. In a chamber which maintains a strong GOP majority, McConnell stated that he would be “totally surprised” if the Senate ultimately got behind the Democrats’ partisan-driven crusade to boot Trump from the White House.
See for yourself:
The vast majority of Democrat leaders have taken aim at Republicans because they know the GOP will not back this sham. Some of the latest left-wing talking points which Democrats are employing against Republicans include “country over party” and “following the Constitution.”
This is rich, deeply hypocritical, and downright laughable coming from the Democrats. If they weren’t bastardizing the Constitution and instead placing country over partisan interests, Democrats wouldn’t have been talking about impeachment since Trump set foot in the Oval Office.
Why House Democrats REALLY Brought Articles of Impeachment Against Trump
Democrats brought impeachment articles against Trump because they fear facing him in 2020 and need to appease the radicals within their party. Higher-ups within the party know that any candidate they nominate will be obliterated by the president in a general election.
Earlier this year, Pelosi lamented over the divisiveness of impeachment and stated that there needs to be bipartisan support for it. However, after ongoing backlash from progressives, the House Speaker promptly shifted gears.
This is all very transparent and it’s only a matter of time before this sham crumbles yet again. If House Democrats don’t fail to secure the necessary votes to pass things onto the Senate, the Senate will absolutely acquit this president…and rightfully so.
