After much speculation, it has been confirmed that former Vice President Mike Pence is, in fact, running for the White House in the 2024 presidential election.
Pence has been clear that he believes he’s the best candidate to secure the 2024 GOP nomination and then take on Joe Biden in the general election.
As a result of this, Pence is campaigning and recently partook in a CNN town hall event with host Dana Bash. Though the town hall took an interesting turn when Pence was questioned about the January 6 protesters, as documented by Real Clear Politics.
No Deal
During the town hall event, Pence was asked by Bash if he would ever consider pardoning the January 6 protesters who are presently facing legal problems for their actions at the Capitol over two years ago.
BASH: "Would you consider pardoning any of [the Jan. 6 prisoners]?"

The former vice president responded, stating he has no such plan or intention of doing so. It is Pence’s view that the protesters violated the rule of law that day and should subsequently be held accountable for it.
During his remarks at the CNN town hall, Pence likewise charged January 6 protesters with physically attacking police officers and vandalizing the US Capitol.
And It Begins…
Pence’s remarks about the January 6 protesters came under fire from some conservatives who disagree and believe these folks should be pardoned.
With Pence in the presidential race, it remains to be seen how he fares, especially with him now up against candidates such as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Pence will likewise have to meet the recent criteria laid out by the Republican National Committee in order to attend the first GOP primary debate in August.
On social media, the former vice president has been promoting his travels across the country, along with showing how he’s interacting with the people whose votes he hopes to earn.
