Democrat leaders continue to prove that their support for illegal aliens and other criminals outweighs their allegiance to lawful Americans. We’ve all seen this time and time again; leftist policies and politicians actually work against upholding law and order. Instead, they cater to people who have no regard for the law and want to live off the dime of hardworking taxpayers.

There is no better example of this than illegal aliens and the manner in which Democrats coddle them. While the rest of Americans understand that expecting migrants to lawfully enter the country isn’t wrong, Democrats maintain a different philosophy. Sadly, this philosophy involves placing illegals on a pedestal while disregarding Americans and law enforcement officers.
Just yesterday, a New York law went into effect, thus allowing illegal aliens to obtain driver’s licenses, per reports from The Daily Caller News Foundation.
A Closer Look at the Green Light Bill
New York’s Green Light legislation now allows illegals to get driver’s licenses, even without providing essential information, such as a social security number. Moreover, the bill grants illegal aliens the ability to submit foreign documents, rather than domestic ones, when applying for their licenses.
Obviously, this is New York’s latest attempt at being “woke” and progressive. However, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) had a dire warning for New York in the wake of the Green Light’s success.
According to DHS, supplying illegal aliens with driver’s licenses will ultimately place the wellbeing and safety of New York residents at risk. Moreover, this new law interferes with DHS’ ability to review public records and probe crimes such as sex crimes, drug smuggling, human trafficking, the exploitation of children, and worse.
Of course, none of this matters to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo who happily signed the Green Light bill into law earlier this year; yesterday marked the first day of the legislation officially going into effect.
From Bad to Worse
Since the Green Light is now law in New York, the state’s DMV office has affirmed their decision not to share information with “an agency that primarily enforces immigration law.” This includes not only Customs & Border Patrol (CBP) but also Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

This new form of coddling illegal aliens will only backfire on New York and they’ll have no one to blame other than their Democrat leaders. Law enforcement agencies are not the enemy here; furthermore, illegals are not the angelic and piously oppressed persons that Democrats claim them as.
Quite frankly, New York should be ashamed for passing a law which blatantly goes against the best interests of their own people.
