NY Mayor Described the Migrant Situation as a “Real Embarrassment”
New York City is facing an overwhelming influx of migrants, according to Mayor Eric Adams, who described the situation as a “real embarrassment” on a national level.
Mayor Adams declared the current influx of migrants left New York City without any additional capacity to accommodate them, stating “we’re full up.”
The crisis prompted the mayor to address the situation, as a large number of migrants, including those arriving by bus, have arrived in the city in recent months. Sid Rosenberg, a host, reacted by dubbing it a “Biden problem” and a “Democrat” problem.

Sid Rosenberg, the host of the show, attributed the migrant crisis to the Democrats and specifically President Biden. He stated the issue was now being faced by people like Mayor Adams and argued it was simply the truth.
Adams acknowledged addressing the immigration crisis would require action from Congress in addition to the president.
He stated the president has a responsibility to address immediate concerns, but comprehensive immigration reform will require cooperation between the executive and legislative branches of government.
Adams: The Migrant Situation is a “National Obligation”
The Biden administration has faced criticism over the record number of migrants crossing the border, with over 2.3 million encounters in the 2022 fiscal year and numbers on track to surpass that in 2023.
The White House has defended its policies, citing increased funding for the Department of Homeland Security and enhanced cooperation with Western Hemisphere countries.
It has called on Republican support for additional funding and a comprehensive immigration reform bill that includes a pathway to citizenship for millions of undocumented immigrants.
As the migrant crisis continues to overwhelm various states, some have taken matters into their own hands by sending migrants to more liberal cities and jurisdictions.
Among these states is Texas, where Governor Greg Abbott has faced backlash for sending migrants to cities like New York and other sanctuary cities.
Adams also revealed Colorado is sending migrants to New York as the state grapples with its own issues in Denver.
