Throughout Joe Biden’s run in the 2020 presidential election, there’s been talk about whether or not former President Barack Obama will ever come out and endorse him.
After all, Biden served as Obama’s vice president for eight years and as far as the public knows, Obama and Biden share a very close relationship. However, in spite of all this, Obama still has yet to gift Biden with the golden endorsement.

The former vice president has faced questions about the missing Obama endorsement on multiple occasions. Now, according to Biden, he actually asked his former running mate not to endorse his candidacy because he wants to “earn” his way to the nomination. Nobody really believes that, but nevertheless, Biden claims that after he wins his party’s nomination, Obama will be right there by his side to campaign for him.
The validity of this, however, remains in question. New reports have surfaced in which Obama allegedly stated that Biden fails to connect with Iowan voters, per reports from Breitbart News.
Reviewing Obama’s Reported Statements on Biden and Iowan Voters
As the 2020 presidential election plays out, the 44th president has reportedly spoken with various candidates in private. Obama’s advice is “not always heeded,” however, when discussing Biden’s appeal to Iowans, the former president reportedly stated that Biden “really doesn’t have it.”
Obama’s alleged remarks about his former running mate come as Biden continues to tank in polls amongst Iowa voters. This is ironic since the former vice president has been reportedly focusing his campaign efforts on reaching voters in Iowa. It appears as though whichever strategies Biden’s employing are not working too well for him.
Earlier this month, Obama came out and issued a warning to 2020 Democrats as a whole. The former president professed that leftist ideas have to be “rooted in reality.” This is advice which many Democrats turned their nose at; although, none of the 2020 candidates are bold enough to come out and directly rebuke Obama’s statements.
Bad News for Biden
When a major figurehead in the Democrat Party comes out and censures a left-winger’s presidential campaign in this manner, it’s never a good sign.

Biden has yet to respond to the alleged remarks from his former running mate and no one should hold their breath waiting for him to do so. The former vice president has a tendency to invoke Obama when it fits his narrative, yet remain silent in other cases.
Whether or not Obama ever endorses Biden’s 2020 campaign certainly remains to be seen.
