Throughout her time as a politician, House Rep. Ilhan Omar has repeatedly made headlines for very venomous and anti-American rhetoric. From dismissing 9/11 as “some people did something” to making different anti-Semitic statements, Omar’s positions and lack of love for America are quite clear.
In light of the congresswoman’s positions and perceptions of this nation, her endorsement of Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign shouldn’t really come as a shock.
Reports from Townhall confirm that Omar stumped for Sanders last night in Minnesota. During this time, the House representative made negative implications about the West in addition to spewing hatred towards President Trump.
Reviewing Omar’s Commentary During the Sanders Rally
Individuals who have chosen to rally behind Sanders are not lovers of America. Throughout Omar’s commentary last night, she painted the West as dark and evil, along with the current president of the United States. Sanders supporters eagerly chanted “lock him up” when mention of Trump came up; however, they saw no issues with the false and dangerous narratives which Omar chose to perpetuate last night.
In stumping for Sanders, Omar proudly declared that he will “fight against Western Imperialism” and for a “just world” as president. Clearly, Omar missed the memo that the position which Sanders is running for is for president of the United States, not president of the world.
Quite frankly, Omar’s disapproval of America not bowing before nations like China is concerning for a sitting House representative.
Shortly thereafter, Omar wrongly accused President Trump of xenophobia and racism. These typical, left-wing talking points were also unleashed by Sanders; sadly, his audience ate it right up.
More on Sanders’ Presidential Campaign
The policies which are supported by Bernie Sanders, Ilhan Omar, and other far-leftists would radically restructure America. Sanders has run his campaign on alleging that this country is inherently evil, racist, and oppressive; his ability to pull endorsements from politicians like Omar and Ocasio-Cortez is, quite frankly, to be expected.
At this time, Sanders is one of the leading candidates in the primary stage of the 2020 presidential election. If he winds up winning the Democrat nomination and going up against President Trump, Sanders will be in for a very rude awakening. In continuously surrounding himself with the likes of Omar and other America-hating socialists, Sanders has forgotten that most people in this country are not on board with the extremes of the left.
