One of the biggest talking points of the left is the assertion that they favor and support immigrants. This talking point isn’t just for immigrants though; Democrats consistently purport themselves as saviors of various demographics…such as women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, and the like.
However, what the left neglects to mention is that this support is conditional upon the aforementioned groups supporting leftist policies, philosophies, and politicians. The moments this support goes in any other direction, all bets are off with Democrats.
There’s no better example of this than the latest treatment of legal immigrant entrepreneurs and Trump fans Jorge and Betty Rivas. The married couple owns an Arizona-based restaurant called Sammy’s Mexican Grill and furthermore became the target of unhinged, Trump-hating leftists after being spotted at one of the president’s rally, reports Breitbart News.
The Leftist Harassment of Jorge and Betty Rivas
Left-wingers didn’t take too kindly to seeing this immigrant couple attend the president’s rally. In keeping with the Democrat way, the left immediately started leaving negative reviews for Sammy’s Mexican Grill in the hopes of harming their business. However, word quickly spread of what was happening and many conservatives and Trump supporters rallied behind the pro-Trump business owners.
According to Jorge Rivas, he and his wife were branded as “evil racists” for attending the president’s rally. The immigrant entrepreneur explained that while the negative reviews caused his and his wife’s restaurant to take a hit for about a day, their business quickly picked back up since then. In the wake of the aforementioned backlash, the Rivas couple has come out and reaffirmed their support for President Trump.
Support from Conservatives
Folks on the right, from everyday conservatives to President Trump himself, have stood behind the Rivas couple and encouraged Arizonians and folks passing by to eat at Sammy’s Mexican Grill. This also isn’t the first time that right-wing, patriotic Americans rushed to the defense of business owners being bullied by the hateful left.
All in all, the entire leftist stunt of attempting to shut down Jorge and Betty Rivas simply shows what hypocrites Democrats are. They claim to be for immigrants…unless those immigrants are right-wing. The left claims to be in favor of all Americans having an opportunity, yet they seek to block opportunities for those who politically dissent from leftist ideologies. Never again should Democrats claim to be the party of immigrants or working people.
