As the radical Democrats continue their crusade to indoctrinate Americans with socialist talking points, we the people must always push back. Contrary to the nonexistent, utopian fantasy that Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren are selling to this country, socialism is actually quite dangerous. Under a socialist society, there is no incentive to work hard and no room for ambition, innovation, or advancements.
The Thanksgiving season marks no better time to note the importance of rejecting socialism. Therefore, this is precisely what GOP Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul did via Twitter yesterday.
Paul posted a tweet, reminding Americans that the tradition of Thanksgiving began when the pilgrims said no to socialism.
Rand Paul on Rejecting Socialism
On Thanksgiving morning, the conservative senator published a tweet linking to an article by the Foundation for Economic Education. In a caption to the link, Paul reminded Americans to enjoy the holiday with loved ones while remembering that the rejection of socialism is what ultimately allowed the first Thanksgiving to come into inception.
Paul’s reminder to resist socialism came as politicians like Bernie Sanders urged Americans to espouse socialist talking points at the Thanksgiving dinner table. In order to sell socialism, Sanders is lying to Americans and claiming that a socialist system is all about treating people equally and fairly. Of course, this is the precise opposite of what happens under socialist regimes.
The Perils of Socialism
Time and time again, it’s been proven that socialism always results in failure and misery. When socialism inevitably collapses and leaves ruin in its wake, its supporters claim that what happened wasn’t “real socialism” and should, therefore, be tried again.
Elizabeth Warren, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Bernie Sanders, and all the other socialists are lying to Americans and they ought to be ashamed of themselves. What socialists do is prey on people’s struggles and fears by presenting government handouts and control as the solutions. What so many people fail to realize is that what government gives, government can also take away.
We should all be mindful of this and heed the advice of Americans like Rand Paul. As the United States of America, we must always reject socialism.
