Roe v. Wade Overturn Brings About a Massive Shutdown of Abortion Clinics Across the US

It’s been well over a month since the trademark Roe v. Wade decision was overturned by the US Supreme Court.

Now that the heinous act of abortion has been illegalized in red states, abortion clinics are shutting down en masse.

11 Republican states have implemented nearly total outlaws on abortion, those being Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas.

The pro-life movement wins the battle

Prior to the SCOTUS decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, 71 clinics in total were providing easy access to what can only be categorized as taking away a life.

As of last week, only 28 of those clinics remain, all of them in the four states with six-week abortion bans.

As for the other seven, a complete ban on abortions was implemented, removing every clinic from those states, including the one from Mississippi which was in the limelight of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health decision.

Texas was the state with the most clinics closed down, towering above the rest with 23 clinics now shut down, followed closely by Alabama and Oklahoma, each with only five clinics no longer operating.

The information was gathered on July 5th; through the detailed listing of clinics that provided abortion care as early as 2020 in these 11 states.

Blue state abortion clinics overwhelmed with visitors

After its creation, the list was closely monitored and updated with information gathered through news stories, social media posts, and changes in state laws; although the biggest contribution was made by correlated organizations.

In cases where a clinic’s website was still up, despite the state’s absolute ban on the procedure, the researchers claim to have called the clinic numerous times.

After this, they’d conclude it was closed if no one answered the call during business hours.

On the other side, neighboring states with more “progressive” abortion laws are now being overwhelmed with an influx of those traveling to get the procedure done.

According to NY Times, the waiting list for an abortion in New Mexico is up to three weeks long. Some of these clinics are backlogged to the point where they simply can’t take in more appointments until their schedule is cleared.

No matter the amount of legislation Republicans push, those seeking to inflict harm upon the life growing inside them will ultimately find a way, be it through legal or illegal means.

In the end, as long as your tax dollars aren’t paying for someone’s abortion and the cross-state journey they took to get one, you probably shouldn’t be concerned with the matter.

Albeit we’ve seen what the left is capable of, so make sure you’re on the right side of morality when it comes to abortion.
