With Monday being Labor Day, many Americans took the time to acknowledge the dignity of working and just how much it impacts the nation.
Without America’s small businesses and various other jobs, the country wouldn’t be as well off as it is today. Work is what ultimately allows people to enjoy options, a future, and the ability to get ahead.
Many politicians sent out various messages celebrating Labor Day and speaking about the significance of work. However, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ message on Monday especially stood out and furthermore earned him high praise, as documented by Breitbart News.
What to Know About DeSantis’ Labor Day Message
Yesterday morning, the Florida governor mentioned his thankfulness that the state stood up and defended people’s rights to work, rather than locking everyone down in the name of COVID.
This Labor Day, I am glad Florida protected the right of all Floridians to earn a living when many other states did not.

DeSantis followed this up by stating that while other states did choose to lock people down and deny them the dignity of working, Florida now has more people working than it did before COVID was ever a factor.
As it turns out, DeSantis’ leadership of Florida paid off big time.
In 2020 and 2021 alone, thousands upon thousands of people moved to the Sunshine State. Many people did this to get the experience of freedom and dodge the heavy restrictions put in place by blue state governors.
Standing Against the Mob
DeSantis’ protection of workers in Florida came amid left-wing mobs viciously going after him. Democrats didn’t hesitate to claim that the governor didn’t care about the lives of the elderly and was needlessly endangering lives.
Meanwhile, it’s since come out that lockdowns and other measures championed by the Democrat Party did not stop COVID.
Unfortunately, this means many people who were forced out of their jobs, forced to watch their businesses go under, etc., had to endure this all for nothing.
It didn’t stop COVID; however, these tyrannical measures did highlight that DeSantis was right all along to refuse to go along with shutdowns and these other mandates.
Under President Biden, your Labor Day weekend barbeque will unsurprisingly cost more than 2021.

The message that DeSantis put out on Labor Day was widely celebrated by Floridians who have benefited from his defense of work and individual rights.
It’s even been suggested on numerous occasions that other governors should take a page out of DeSantis’ book; not just on labor and opposing lockdowns, but on a variety of other issues as well.
Because DeSantis stood his ground and shielded people’s rights to support themselves, Florida’s been a net positive on the nation’s overall rate of employment.
