Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has a lot of momentum backing him right now. He won reelection by a landslide earlier this month, doing so by close to 20 points. On top of that, DeSantis also managed to win counties that have traditionally gone to Democrats for years on end.
Many people are talking about the possibility of DeSantis running for president. GOP donors are likewise expressing an interest in seriously backing the Florida governor.
All of this is very threatening to former President Trump. This has led to Trump attacking DeSantis, despite no provocation from the Florida governor.
DeSantis supporters and even some political pundits warn that Trump’s repeated attacks make him look desperate, weak, and scared of the Florida governor. Though on Tuesday, DeSantis responded to the talking points from Trump, as Breitbart News reports.
Just Noise
During a press conference, DeSantis was directly asked about the jabs that Trump is taking against him.
To this end, the Florida governor said it’s “just noise” that comes along with the job of being a leader and getting things done. Furthermore, DeSantis went on to say that Trump is not the only one he has taken “incoming fire” from.

While giving his response, DeSantis seemed notably relaxed and not at all phased by what Trump has been saying.
The Florida governor eventually concluded his response by stating people should review the scoreboard from last week when he and other Republicans secured massive GOP victories statewide.
Keeping His Powder Dry
Despite Trump lashing out on the regular, DeSantis continues to maintain his focus on Florida’s leadership. The smooth response from the Florida governor, when asked about Trump’s criticism, has also come as a breath of fresh air to folks tired of Trump’s approach to politics.
At this rate, Americans can expect to keep seeing DeSantis leading. Reports indicate that the Florida governor has no plans of rolling around in the mud with Trump at this time.

However, given the current turning of the tide, if DeSantis were to launch a presidential run, he would have the strongest chance of defeating Trump in the primary.
This would then set DeSantis up against Biden or whichever candidate Democrats choose to run in 2024. Right now, it is too early to say; though a lot is possible, especially as more people in the conservative movement tire of Donald Trump and seek out alternatives for the presidential election.
What do you make of DeSantis’ reactions to the crazed attacks from Donald Trump? Do you believe the Florida governor should run for president in 2024? Do you believe DeSantis could defeat Trump in the primary election?
