Wealth shaming is a common habit of the socialist Democrat Party. In one way or another, leftists always find ways to vilify those who have succeeded, done well for themselves, and achieved economic prosperity. This happens not only through Democrats’ words, but also via their policies calling to raise taxes on successful people’s earnings and already-acquired wealth.

After last night’s South Carolina Democrat debate, Bernie Sanders engaged in a unique form of wealth shaming. Breitbart News reports the socialist senator’s claim that Americans’ ability to afford pricey tickets to attend last night’s debate is “problematic.”
Sanders’ classification of economic prosperity as problematic comes on the heels of him making complimentary statements about dictator Fidel Castro and repeatedly espousing socialist talking points throughout his campaign.
The Latest Instance of Wealth Shaming
At this point, the left’s disdain for economic prosperity is a known fact. Economically-sufficient individuals are much less likely to rely upon government or look to government to save them. Of course, this doesn’t bode well for Democrats because they need a helpless, dependent class in order to maintain political power.
This explains why Sanders and other Democrats have such a penchant for wealth shaming. Following last night’s debate, the socialist candidate noted that debate tickets often go for $1,700 per piece. Noting that someone would have to be “fairly wealthy” to afford the aforementioned ticket price, Sanders opined that the capacity to afford this fee is wrong.
Why Sanders Has it Backwards
The ability to afford pricey tickets is not a flaw or a problem. As a matter of fact, economic prosperity of this nature ought to be encouraged. Sanders’ assessment on this matter speaks volumes about why he has no business coming anywhere near the presidency.
Under no circumstances should a socialist ever ascend to the White House or any other form of government. The consistent wealth shaming that comes from the left is unfortunate because it sends the erroneous message that doing well for oneself is wrong.

Ultimately, Sanders will always have his priorities and policies backwards simply because he’s a socialist. It’s as simple as that. Socialists have no regard for freedom, liberty, economic success, or upward mobility. By contrast, capitalism is a central American value and everything that socialism is not.
