2020 Democrat Beto O’Rourke continues to dig a deeper hole for himself with his draconian and ineffective ideas for gun control. The thing is, the deeper O’Rourke’s hole gets, the more he doubles down on his positions; it’s actually really sad.

A Brief Review of O’Rourke’s Plans to Steal Your Guns

The 2020 candidate first got himself into trouble after declaring, “hell yes, we’re gonna take your AR-15, your AK-47!” This won him brownie points with his far-left, Constitution-hating supporters, but had the opposite effect on the rest of America. Since making that statement, O’Rourke was confronted by people in this country who actually do value the Bill of Rights and the inherent freedoms which come with living in this country.

Still, this didn’t stop O’Rourke who doubled down, yet again. Last week, the 2020 Democrat professed that “consequences” will ensue for his “fellow Americans” who refuse to turn over their guns to the government. Then, O’Rourke stated during an interview that he would decree law-enforcement officers to go door-to-door and see to it that AR-15s and AK-47s have been confiscated.

The latter statements on “consequences” and police-enforced gun grabs prompted San Juan County Sheriff Shane Ferrari to brand O’Rourke as “delusional,” per reports from Townhall.

The Reality Check from Law Enforcement

Shane Ferrari, the county sheriff of San Juan, slammed O’Rourke and his plans for confiscating the guns of law-abiding citizens. In his censure, Ferrari furthermore noted that O’Rourke’s gun grabs are merely “a plan of desperation.”

Ferrari’s precise statements on the matter read as follows:

“Mr. O’Rourke is delusional in regards to his gun control ideas. The biggest fear of any free society is the government at your door wanting to take away your rights by force. I do not see the men and women of law enforcement sworn to uphold the U.S. Constitution doing this.”

Mark Cage, the sheriff of Eddy Count, also had similar remarks regarding O’Rourke’s talk of police-enforced gun grabs:

“I’m not sure whether his statements are naive or just plain ignorant and arrogant. Maybe it’s all three. The thought of anyone utilizing my sheriff’s office or any other law enforcement agency in this country as their personal Gestapo to go door-to-door violating citizens’ rights is disgusting, unrealistic and downright un-American.”

Why O’Rourke Will Never be President

O’Rourke’s gun grabs are simply another example of poor policies from the Democrat Party. The reality here is that American citizens don’t support the 2020 Democrat’s mandatory buyback programs. Law enforcement isn’t very supportive of it either and they certainly aren’t behind the idea of employing officers to do O’Rourke’s dirty work and essentially violate the Second Amendment.

For as outrageous as O’Rourke’s policies may be, the good news here is that he will never come within sniffing distance of the White House. O’Rourke’s not coming near the White House because he won’t even get a chance to go up against President Trump in a general election.

The 2020 Democrat is in the low, single-digit number range and while the anti-Second Amendment talk has gotten O’Rourke covered the press, it certainly hasn’t lifted him up in the polls.
