For the last 12 months, I believed the lies that Democratic Senators Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona said.
Shocker
He said inflation was being brought on by out-of-control expenditures. He pledged to defend the fossil fuel industries against the climate change nutjobs in his own party.
Many of my coworkers cautioned me about taking Manchin seriously. He’ll leave you heartbroken. He did.
He retracted all of his statements on Build Back Better. Though one reason I believed he would oppose the horrifying $700 billion tax and spending Inflation Reduction Act was West Virginia is the state that will lose the most.
We obtain a significant portion of our coal and fossil fuels from there. Here is a great analysis from the Center for Energy Research staff:
“West Virginia produces the second-most coal in the US, and the state uses coal to provide 88 percent of its power.”
Government spending needs to be cut in half and we can start by defunding the IRS and FBI.

In the past, Senator Manchin advised his supporters to “innovate, not destroy.” However, the agreement Manchin and Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer created will have the opposite effect.
Since the incentives for renewable are so favorable, more coal plants will be shut down. This will limit coal-producing activities and do nothing to innovate coal assets.
Sinema similarly stated she was unable to support the Biden tax hike proposal because it would harm Arizonan companies. Though in the end, she attempted to repair the damage while voting for the largest tax rise in years.
Whether it was all a staged hoax planned by Manchin and Schumer is one unanswered issue. Evidently, it was. Lies, lies, and more lies.
Manchin and Schumer definitely played the Senate Republican members like a violin, that much is certain.
After Manchin voted against the package, a few Republican senators gave the measure the necessary votes to succeed. This $1.1 trillion “structure” plan was actually a down payment for the Green New Deal.
The Big Numbers
Then, last month, upwards of 16 Senate Republicans voted in favor of a $200 billion corporate handout plan for additional green energy and rescue for the semiconductor sector.
This happened after Democrats likely pronounced the Build Back Better bill to be a dead issue. A typical bait-and-switch, this one was.
Democrats just voted in favor of a tax hike and more government spending during a time of historic inflation.
Every. Single. One.

By succumbing to it, the GOP gave Biden two bipartisan victories on shoddy legislation. Now, the conservative grassroots movement is discouraged and unsure of whether they will make any changes to Washington’s debt-spending mentality.
Manchin frequently claims the agreement he negotiated allows for further fossil fuel extraction. I won’t accept that he is so gullible.
This will undoubtedly result in fewer coal-producing facilities since renewable energy sources will receive such large subsidies that coal as well as other energy sources will be unable to compete.
Additionally, it is highly unlikely the Biden administration’s Interior and Environmental Protection Departments will begin awarding drilling licenses.
