Over the past few years, America’s seen a dangerous shift towards policies that are permissive of crime. Letting criminals out of prison early, gutting bail laws, and defunding the police are just a few examples.
Time and time again, the ugly consequences of such reforms continue to rear their ugly heads. Smash-and-grab robberies are one example, just like the growing reports of sporadic, random crimes.
In yet another instance of why soft-on-crime policy is incompatible with a safe nation, a new tragedy has just emerged in Arizona, according to the Gateway Pundit.
Preventable Loss of Life
Lauren Heike was hiking in Phoenix, Arizona when Zion William Teasley wound up stabbing her to death. Though it turns out that Teasley never should have been on the streets in the first place.
Before taking Heike’s life, Teasley was hit with charges of kidnapping, burglary, disorderly conduct, and armed robbery back in 2020.
As he was going through the criminal justice system, the prosecution ended up axing nearly one dozen charges that would have ensured Teasley stayed still locked up to this day.

– Video from the area and cell records were also used
– Zion was recently fired for being aggressive towards female employees and allegedly stealing

Because of this, Teasley got out of prison well before he should have, thereby giving him the opportunity to murder Heike. Since stabbing her to death, the criminal young man is now facing charges of first-degree murder.
More to Come?
If communities across the nation don’t get serious about cracking down on lawlessness and holding criminals accountable, then more incidents like the one involving Teasley are going to occur.

Heike had her whole life ahead of her. However, she was robbed of the opportunity to live it because the criminal justice system failed to do what it was designed to do.
It remains to be seen if communities across America learn from this or continue to make the grave error of giving criminals a slap on the wrist. This article appeared in New Vision News and has been published here with permission.
