Mayor Tishaura Jones has decided that cutting nearly 100 police jobs and diverting four million dollars to social programs is a good idea. She is horrifyingly wrong.
In St. Louis, their murder rates are at a 50 year high. You would think that intervention on curbing the crime wave would be a top priority for any mayor. For the far left, however, logic in this regard seems to be misplaced. The citizens of St. Louis will suffer as a result.

Worst Murder Rate in the Country
The 50 year high murder rate in St. Louis actually makes it the worst murder rate in the country now. On top of the police cuts, the city will also be shutting down one of its jails, usually a welcome move from those on both sides; however, at the moment, with the highest murder rate in the USA, it might not be a good idea.
The head of the cities correctional department, Dale Glass, is resigning, not forced, but certainly encouraged by the mayor. She was apparently unsatisfied with how he ran things. Only time will tell how the citizens are satisfied with the way she runs things.

In 2020, the city had 87 homicides per 100,000 residents; even as the population has declined, no doubt due to terrible liberal policies, the murder rate has climbed to the 50 year high. This is also as a result of shockingly bad Democrat inner-city policies.
How it Should be Done
Mayor Rudy Guliani ran New York in a much different fashion and that is an understatement. The Mayor hired more police, arrested and incarcerated more criminals, and as a result, New York’s crime rate dropped sharply.
Without a doubt, leftist policies in the inner cities have resulted in the destruction of the business districts and an increase in violent crime. Cities should follow the example of red states who have thriving inner cities, such as those in Florida, Texas, and several others. In fact, violent inner cities are almost synonymous with Democrat leadership and that’s a fact.

When conservatives win cities, in most cases they improve. This is especially true in black communities that have seen increases in poverty, joblessness, and crime due to democratic policies.
When Republicans point this out, win, and then improve, the left hates it. They are terrified the message will take hold and they will lose their voting base for good.
It’s important to mention that this is all just one big political game by the left to keep its claws on the voters. There is no such thing as honest politics in this regard; conservatives are guilty of this too, except the key difference is while they improve to earn our votes, the left destroys.
