Last night, President Trump stood before America and delivered a powerful, patriotic, and uplifting State of the Union Address. Despite Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s incredulous facial expressions, booing from far-left House members, and other expressions of poor form from Democrats, Trump did not disappoint.
As documented by Breitbart News, the president covered a variety of critical matters, from the betterment of our nation’s economy to criminal justice reform, international trade deal victories, and the commitment to never accept socialism.
During the 2020 State of the Union Address, Trump furthermore awarded a school scholarship to fourth-grade student Janiyah, bestowed conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and even surprised a military wife with the return of her previously-deployed husband.
To say that the president gave a pro-America, riveting, and inspirational State of the Union Address like no other would be a massive understatement.
Reviewing the 2020 State of the Union Address
Trump kicked off his third State of the Union Address by discussing the thriving condition of our country’s economy.
Citing record unemployment lows for various demographics across the board, the president reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring opportunity for all. Trump then pointed out the “seven million new jobs” which his presidency has engendered; shortly thereafter, the president also explained how his improvement of the economy has crossed over to criminal justice reform.
Following talks of improvements for veterans and criminal justice reform, the president addressed trade deals. Thanks to Trump, the USMCA deal is in effect and set to generate tens of thousands of new jobs for the American people; moreover, USMCA will improve our nation’s quality of trade with Mexico and Canada. The success of USMCA comes despite House Democrats sitting on the legislation for a year.
Following the affirmation of America’s commitment to “freedom in our hemisphere,” announcement of the Space Force’s inception, and tribute to war heroes, Trump honored the paramountcy of school choice. After bestowing fourth-grade Janiyah with the Opportunity Scholarship, the president called upon Congress to pass the Education Freedom Scholarships and Opportunity Act and give all American children access to school choice.
Additional points of the 2020 State of the Union Address included lasting funding for HBCUs, protection of Americans’ healthcare, the enforcement of legal immigration, and finally, the inherent greatness of the United States.
Nancy Pelosi’s Temper Tantrum
As to be expected, Democrats didn’t think much of the president’s State of the Union Address. Certain left-wing lawmakers boycotted the event or walked out; however, the conduct of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has garnered the most censure.
“#PettyPelosi,” “#NancytheRipper” and “#PelosiMeltdown” are currently trending on Twitter as a result of the Speaker’s choice to tear up her copy of Trump’s address. This move subsequently engendered criticism from House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and others. Last night and earlier this morning, McCarthy pointed out that Pelosi’s decision to rip up official documents of the president’s address doesn’t change the facts contained within them.
Others drew parallels between Pelosi tearing up her copy of the address with today’s upcoming acquittal of President Trump and the essential “rip up” of bogus impeachment articles.
