The rejection of Roe v. Wade by the US Supreme Court on Friday, according to a longtime top adviser to President Trump, is what Trump’s first term will be remembered for.
Trump’s Influence
The Roe v. Wade decision on Friday demonstrates how Trump’s Supreme Court nominees and federal judicial nominees will be the 45th president’s “most crucial point and legacy.”
This “will have a lasting impact,” Jenna Ellis said in a question and answer session with The Epoch Times on June 24.
On June 24, the Supreme Court overruled Roe v. Wade, the 1973 decision that invalidated a wide range of state and federal laws banning abortion, by a vote of 6-3.

The Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Reproductive Health Organization case produced the judgment (court file 19-1392).
“I had the opportunity to phone President Trump this afternoon and sincerely thank him for having the guts to support each of these judges,” Ellis added. “For every one of them, it was a valiant effort.”
“He backed them up. He was aware they would be the best candidates for the position. Without his bravery, his judgment, and the appointment of these justices, our nation would not exist as it does today,” she said.
“I thanked him for having the fortitude to steadfastly defend life, liberty, and our country.”
Legacy of 45
“If Trump hadn’t made it possible for a conservative majority on the high court,” Ellis said “Roe v. Wade, a ruling with activist judges at its heart, could not have been reversed.”
In accordance with American thinking, the Dobbs case had already been ongoing ever since Roe v. Wade was decided, but President Trump was able to change the Supreme Court’s makeup.
Brett Kavanaugh, Neil Gorsuch, and Amy Coney Barrett were all Supreme Court nominees of Trump when he was in office.
Abortion is legal in California.
It will remain that way.

With Justice Alito, who called Roe “heinously wrong and terribly destructive” to America and stated “the law does not bestow a right to abortion,” all three judges agreed with the ruling of the top court.
The Republican majority on the Supreme Court and conservatives in every department of government, from the national to the state and municipal levels, according to Ellis, are crucial for this reason.
“We must uphold these [constitutional] ideals in order to maintain our commitment to the rule of law and to the idea that our country is one of the laws, not of rulers.”
Ellis said, “We’re seeing it not just with the Dobbs case, but also with the Second Amendment case, and others who are beginning to push the country back toward truly adopting and protecting our greatest law of the country: the United States Constitution.”
Trump similarly praised the Dobbs ruling on social media on Friday, calling it a “great pleasure” to choose “constitutionalist” judges.
