This ultimately resulted in Legend and Teigen tweeting back at the president and even referencing First Lady Melania Trump. As of this morning, multiple names and phrases regarding the exchanged words are trending on Twitter.

Criminal Justice Reform and More Under the Trump Presidency

The 2018 prison release of Alice Marie Johnson served as a pivotal milestone in criminal justice reform, something which subsequently led to the First Step Act. Many supporters of the president have noticed the silence of various Trump critics. Typically, criminal justice reform is something which gathers bipartisan support, in spite of disagreements on other issues.

Earlier this morning, Trump called out networks like MSNBC and CNN for failing to acknowledge the accomplishments which have taken place during his time in office:

It’s not uncommon for critics of Trump, including those in the media, to loudly report on what they view as negatives of the administration, while offering modest to little coverage of the administration’s victories. This pattern has largely contributed to the president and his supporters referring to certain networks as “fake news.”
