Trump Signals Willingness to Talk Coronavirus with Biden

Democrat frontrunner Joe Biden has spent a significant amount of time going after President Trump. In many ways, this is par for the course since Trump and Biden are political adversaries and will wind up facing off in the 2020 general election. However, much of the former vice president’s latest censure has pertained to coronavirus.

Biden branded China travel restrictions as “xenophobic.” He’s furthermore gone after Trump in interviews, stating that the president isn’t acting like a president or doing his job efficiently. Nevertheless, Fox News reports Trump’s admitted willingness to have a phone call with Biden about COVID-19, despite the latter’s incessant attacks.

Trump on Speaking with Biden about Coronavirus

When asked about his acceptance of speaking with Biden about COVID-19, the president stated that he’s all for it. Trump additionally noted that although he isn’t personally familiar with the former vice president, he seems like “a nice guy.” Shortly thereafter came the president’s confirmation that if Biden wants to call the White House to discuss coronavirus, Trump will accept the call.

Talk about a potential phone call came after White House counselor Kellyanne Conway urged Biden to work with Trump in the fight against coronavirus, rather than simply lobbing cheap attacks. The 2020 Democrat seemed to take this advice to heart, hence his later offer to phone the White House and speak with Trump.

Will Trump and Biden Speak About COVID-19?

At this time, there is no public set date for Trump and Biden to speak with one another about coronavirus. Whether or not the former vice president actually follows through on calling the White House to discuss the virus remains to be seen.

 

Thus far, Biden’s chosen to spend his time in interviews going after the president. He also launched Here’s The Deal, a podcast which Biden deemed as apolitical…while using it to make discreet jabs against the president and discuss COVID-19. Only time will tell whether or not the two political rivals are able to temporarily unite with one another in the fight against coronavirus.
