Due to coronavirus, Americans are being encouraged to partake in self-quarantine, social distancing, social isolation, and the like. These adaptive behaviors are taking place across the nation with many folks posting about their experiences on social media.
Earlier this week, first daughter Ivanka Trump took to Twitter to share a photo of herself with her children. Captioning the image with details about spending time with family indoors, much of the reception was positive. Despite the troublesome nature of coronavirus, many families are seizing the opportunity to spend more time with one another.
However, no good deed goes unpunished. Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar took issue with Trump’s family tweet and responded back with a snarky message of her own. This immediately prompted Twitter to come to the first daughter’s defense and tear into Omar.
Everything You Need to Know
In Trump’s tweet, she suggested that families staying home with kids should try putting together a “living room camp.” Citing the logistics of setup, the first daughter ultimately explained that this activity creates an opportunity for healthy bonding and a good meal.
Staying home today w/ kids?
Plan living room camp out!
Throw a bedsheet over some taped together brooms. Plan a menu & ‘pack’ sandwiches, salads (S’mores optional😜)
A fun activity that also brings family together for a meal!

This tweet was met with many supportive and uplifting comments. Coronavirus impacts do not discriminate based on politics or any other factor; therefore, families of all leanings and backgrounds can benefit from helpful hints on family time with kids.
However, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar didn’t care for the first daughter’s tweet so Omar responded with a message of her own. Of course, this response entailed taking aim at President Trump and policies that she disagrees with the president on.
See for yourself:
Thinking of all the families separated forcefully by your father’s policies today.
Share your ideas on how you plan to unite them. #TogetherApart https://t.co/cv2g8Oclvc

Reactions from Twitter
Although Ivanka Trump didn’t respond to Omar, other Twitter users certainly did.
Many of the strongest criticisms against Omar pertained to her dicey track records with families and the inherent consequences that often follow when immigration laws are broken. Conveniently, these are details that leftists tend to forget when preaching on their soapboxes about situations at the South border.
Some responses to Omar’s tweet about “families separated forcefully” read as follows:
Hey @IlhanMN you should probably pipe down since you literally JUST broke up a family. Your new husband cheated on his wife who you knew about & his ex says he brought you to his marital home to meet her child while you 2 were sneaking around behind her back. You might wanna 🤫.

Now? During the crisis? Free immigration now? Open borders? You've displayed your opportunistic political virtue signaling, lack of patriotism and blatant hypocrisy once again.

Thinking of all the families missing their military loved ones today, because the terrorists you sympathize with killed them.
Share your ideas on why you think you shouldn’t be in jail for immigration fraud, campaign fraud, and bigamy. 👌🏻
