US Navy Lands in New Controversy

Across the board, our nation’s military continues to struggle. The military took some significant hits after good servicemembers were let go, all for the supposed offense of not taking the COVID-19 vaccine.

This vaccine mandate remained in effect by the Biden administration, even after it was well documented that these shots couldn’t stop the infection or spread of the virus.

At the same time, all the chaos with COVID stopped the usual recruitment efforts of the military. Meanwhile, growing numbers of Americans either don’t want to serve their country or don’t meet the necessary physical standards in order to become soldiers.

Amid this national crisis, the US Navy is now in the middle of a scandal, according to the New York Post.

It’s Not Looking Good

In an effort to improve its recruitment results, the Navy decided to employ the services of a drag queen. The drag queen’s responsibilities hence involved advocating for servicemembers who feel as though they’ve been wronged, while also pushing to increase diversity within the Armed Forces.

Despite being classed as a “digital ambassador” for the Navy, the drag queen was not paid.

Naturally, the Navy’s decision to bring on a drag queen hasn’t gone over well with the general public. Right now in this country, there are all sorts of problems with drag queens reading to kids in schools, children being taken to sexual drag shows at bars, and more.

Many Americans don’t believe drag is appropriate for the military and have expressed this sentiment accordingly.

A Failure

Despite the services of the aforementioned drag queen, the Navy (like other branches of the US military) is still seriously struggling with recruitment.

So, while bringing on this particular digital ambassador didn’t alleviate the branch’s struggles to get new people on board, it certainly ignited the fury of the general public.
